Macedonian Kingdom. Alexander III, the Great, 336-323 BC. Gold Stater (8.59g) minted at Sardes, ca. 330-325 BC. Head of Athena right in a crested Attic helmet adorned with a coiled serpent, wearing earring and necklace. Reverse: Nike (Victory) standing left holding a wreath and stylis; in left field, serpent uncoiling left. Price 2532; Müller 529. Choice Very Fine.
