Lot 229

1794 S-65 R1 VG8. Sharpness F15, perhaps slightly better on the obverse, but there is some old graffiti in the obverse fields, none visible to the unaided eye. The planchet is reasonably smooth but traces of minor roughness can be found in protected areas on both sides. In addition there are a half dozen light rim bruises on the reverse, the strongest of these at IT in UNITED. Mostly glossy medium brown and light chocolate with darker olive brown toning in some of the protected areas. M-LDS, Breen state VII. The reverse die is cracked and starting to buckle. The date is strong and the legends are clear.
Estimated Value $300-UP.

Realized $506
