Lot 227

1794 S-61 R4 VG10. Sharpness near VF25 but covered with fine to moderate granularity on all but the highpoints, which are nearly smooth. The roughness is light on the obverse, moderate on the reverse. No verdigris, and the only marks are a few very light rim bruises. Slightly glossy light olive and chocolate with darker olive brown toning in protected areas. MDS. The eye appeal of the obverse is actually quite nice, but the roughness detracts significantly from the reverse. The date and legends are complete and easily readable in spite of the roughness.
Estimated Value $300-UP.
John Ahern collection.
