Lot 219

1794 S-51 R4 VG7. The obverse is slightly better while the reverse is a bit weaker. The obverse is smooth and displays only a few minor contact marks, the strongest of these being a small, light rim bruise right of the Y in LIBERTY. The reverse, however, is covered with microscopic roughness and has a couple deep, dull nicks or voids inside the wreath. Olive brown and steel. The obverse is glossy and attractive while the reverse is closer to matte. The date and LIBERTY are complete and clear. The legends on the reverse are easily readable but the top of the legend outside the wreath is starting to flow into the rim. EDS, Breen state I.
Estimated Value $400-UP.
