Lot 214

1794 S-46 R3 VG8. Nice glossy chocolate brown. No corrosion or verdigris, but there are some contact marks. These include a thin nick in the center of the neck and a pair of fine but obvious scratches from the neck across the jaw into the field where they fade away. A thin planchet void or lamination line extends from the second T in STATES down to the rim at NI in UNITED (as struck). The date is bold and the legends are clear. EDS, Breen state I, with a die crack from the center of the neck down through the truncation to the rim right of the date. Imperfect but decent for the grade.
Estimated Value $400-UP.

Realized $552
