Boston, MA - Howard Bank, $1 June 16, 1862. PCGS Fine 15 Apparent. The green ONE counter near lower center adds to the eye appeal of this scarce note. This piece retains nice margins and bold signatures. Other varieties of this note are known, with partially handwritten dates and a red counter. Small edge tears and minor rust stains were cited as the reasons for the Apparent grade. Due to the rarity of this note, the estimate may prove extremely conservative.
