Lot 194

1793 S-6 R3 Wreath Cent VG10. Vine & Bars Edge. Sharpness F15 or slightly better but the fields and protected areas are covered with fine to moderate roughness while the higher points are smooth. No verdigris, and the only mark is a minor rim nick before the nose. Slightly glossy dark olive with lighter chocolate toning on the devices. The contrast in toning helps accent the details and adds to the eye appeal. The date and legends are complete and clear. MDS with minor swelling behind the middle curls (Crosby's so-called "Sprung Die" variety).
Estimated Value $2,000-UP.
John Ahern collection.
