1871 Half Dollar Octagonal Liberty. BG-924 Rarity 3. PCGS graded MS-64. Liberty head set high in the field for placement of a large recut "G" (for Robert B. Gray, the issuer). Lovely golden color and very choice surfaces, slightly prooflike. Die finishing lines are present on Liberty, seen on this variety in particular but others across the Fractional Gold series (PCGS # 10782) .
