Lot 190

1793 S-1 R4 Chain AMERI G5. Sharpness VG10 but there was a defect, perhaps a deep dent, that was repaired at NE in ONE and ENT in CENT. The letters were skillfully reengraved, but the repair remains rather obvious thanks to a toning break in that area. There is a smaller, far less evident repair below the truncation where a dig was filled. Light rim bruises around both sides were smoothed down to minimize their impact. Recolored glossy dark olive brown and chocolate. On the brighter side, the date is weak but readable and the legends are complete. Looks better than the description might imply, but it is far from perfect.
Estimated Value $4,000-UP.

Realized $5,520
