Wells, Orson. Legal document from the Treasury Department of the Internal Revenue Service signed by Orson Welles on 12-14-49 as the "Taxpayer." The one-page document is titled "Consent Fixing Period of Limitation Upon Assessment of Income and Profits Tax." Welles, "a taxpayer…of Beverly Hills, California" agrees that "the amount of any income, excess-profits, or war-profits taxes due…for the taxable year ended December 31, 1945…may be assessed at any time on or before June 30, 1951…." The document is also signed by the IRS commissioner. Files holes and faint stamp at top. Welles signed in black ink.
