Wayne, John. Typed Letter Signed by John Wayne, the star of the movie "Sands of Iwo Jima," on Republic Productions, Inc. letterhead, North Hollywood, California, Sept. 12, 1949. To Pfc. Joseph Moreno Jr., 1st Tank Battalion, Camp Joseph H. Pendleton, Oceanside, California, thanking him and the men of the First Marine Division "for your part in helping us make "Sands of Iwo Jima" a picture we feel you, as well as the entire Marine Corps, will be proud of." Also signed by J.E. Grainger, the producer, and Allan Dwan, the director. Wayne's signature is large and signed in black ink. With the original envelope to Pfc. Moreno. Accompanied by a 17 x 11" poster and an 8 x 5" postcard with a scene from the movie.
