Lot 530

1802 NC-1 R5+ VG7. A few points sharper but the planchet is very slightly bent and there are traces of extremely fine roughness near the rim before the portrait. The remainder of the planchet is void of any notable roughness or verdigris, but there are some light nicks scattered over both sides. A small rim bruise over the I in UNITED is a good identifying mark for this cent. Fairly glossy olive brown and chocolate. The date and legends are complete and clear. Rare EDS, Breen state I, before the usually seen bisecting die crack down the obverse.
Estimated Value $500-UP.
Ex Sam Sloat Coins.
