Lot 506

1797 S-120a R3 Plain Edge, Reverse of 1796 VG10. Sharpness VF25 or slightly better, especially on the obverse, but the planchet is lightly eroded under a rather glossy dark olive and steel brown patina. The roughness is most evident on the reverse. Specks of reddish verdigris can be found on both sides. The only notable mark is a small dig on the left upright of the N in CENT. The date is bold and the legends are complete. E-MDS, Breen state II, before any crumbling along the profile of Ms Liberty.
Estimated Value $250-UP.
