Lot 492

1793 S-9 R2 Wreath Cent. PCGS graded EF-40, CAC Approved. Vine & Bars Edge. The obverse is glossy medium brown fading to light chocolate while the reverse is a more uniform glossy light olive and medium chocolate brown with slightly lighter brown in protected areas. No corrosion or verdigris and only a few minor marks. These include a couple tiny planchet flakes at the border beads left of the top of the head and a couple more at the border beads under the bust tip (all as struck), and three light rim bruises at UNIT. Nicely struck E-MDS, Breen state III, with a die crack through CA to the wreath stem and ribbon but not extending through the ribbon to the fraction bar. The obverse is rather well centered on the planchet but the reverse is off a bit to K-1 leaving some of the border beads off the planchet. A smooth, very attractive Wreath Cent. Our grade is VF30.
Estimated Value $10,000-UP.

Realized $20,125
