1767-A French Colonial Copper Sou Breen-700. PCGS graded EF-40. Double Struck in Collar. Glossy dark chocolate brown with lighter brown toning covering the highpoints, the contrast creating an attractive two-tone appearance that accents the designs. No marks or verdigris, but you can find traces of extremely fine roughness under strong magnification. This piece was struck two times with a tiny, no more than 1 millimeter, shift between the impressions. Sharp, clear doubling is visible on both sides. The double strike feature is noted on the PCGS label.
