Lot 2140

1884-CC PCGS graded Genuine. Our grade is AU58. Close to Mint State and one of the more intriguing dates in the $10 gold series. All 1884-CC Eagles seen to date have some raised die lines on Liberty's neck, as though something injured the dies during striking or, more logical, the person prepping the obverse die inadvertently left behind these "engraver's lines." Scarce in all grades, of course, because of its low mintage (PCGS # 8704) .
Estimated Value $2,700 - 2,800.

Realized $2,990
