1842-O NGC graded AU Details. Reverse improperly cleaned. Well struck. This is a scarce, early New Orleans Mint strike. Only 27,400 were produced. By the later 1840s into the early 1850s, mintage increased markedly. Collectors often have to search for a year or two to acquire an acceptable 1842-O like this sharp example (PCGS # 8587) .
