Lot 1636

New York Apr. 15, 1758 £5. PCGS Fine 12 Apparent. The £10 notes from this issue are encountered with much greater frequency than the £5 denomination, even taking into account the larger printing of the £10 denomination, further adding to the desirability of this example despite its problems. According to the notations on the holder, the Apparent grade was assigned due to "backed; repaired edge tears." However, the notes from this issue have blank dark coarse paper backs as mentioned in the Newman reference.
Estimated Value $200 - 250.

Realized $144
