1880 Shield Nickel. PCGS graded Proof 65. This is one of the "dropped 8" coins as mentioned in Breen's Encyclopedia. Inside the second 8 of the date traces of repunching show. Cloudy and all too typical nickel toning on the reverse. Always in demand in gem condition.
