(1861) J.J. Conway & Co. $2.50 Gold. Stamped at the top by the Mint Of The United States At San Francisco, serial number 1173/999.75 Fine. Also at the top is an eagle with outstretched wings holding an olive branch in his right claw, and 3 arrows in his left. The reverse of the bar is stamped 6.2 ozs. A few minor handling marks are visible on the surfaces, and the bar has toned to a medium antique gray color. These bars have long been popular with collectors, who could take these instead of coins from the Mint. This bar grades Fine.
