Lot 539

1931-S. PCGS graded MS-65 PQ CAC Approved. Untoned and well struck. A wonderful gem coin. Only the San Francisco Mint struck buffaloes in 1931 (1,200,000 in all). There were none minted in 1932-33, the years that marked the low point of the Great Depression. Fortunately, a fair number of original rolls of 1931-S survived and are the main source of these gorgeous MS65s. The rolls have long since been broken up and distributed into the marketplace (PCGS # 3971) .
Estimated Value $250 - 275.

Realized $288
