Leo III, 717-741. Gold Tremissis (1.32 g) minted at Constantinople. Facing bust of Leo III holding globus cruciger and akakia. Reverse: Facing bust of Constantine V (son of Leo III) holding cross potent on base. Cf. D.O. 15-18; S. 1508. Rare, especially with such an even, strong strike. Nearly Mint State.
