Lot 35

1833 N-2 R2 MS60. Glossy medium brown and chocolate with a few delicate wisps of darker olive brown toning on the obverse. Hints of light bluish steel overtone can be found on both sides. No defects, but the slightly uneven toning on the obverse distracts from an otherwise beautiful cent. M-LDS. The die cracks are clear, the stars are drawing to the rims, and the reverse is rotated 30 degrees CW from the normal head-to-foot die orientation. Called MS60 by Noyes, his photo #28828. Now housed in a PCGS MS63 BN holder. (PCGS # 37021).
Estimated Value $600-UP.
Ex Julian Leidman, American Auction Association 11/10/72:789-R. E. Naftzger, Jr. (via Bill Noyes)-Chris McCawley 2/2002, The Northwest Collection.
