Q. Pomponius Musa, moneyer. AR Denarius minted at Rome, 66 BC. Laureate head right of Apollo; to left, lyre-key. Reverse: Calliope (Muse of Epic Poetry) standing right, playing lyre resting on column. Sear 352; Pomponia 9; Cr. 410/2a; Syd. 811. Nearly Extremely Fine.

Calliope was the eldest, wisest, and perhaps the most storied of the Muses. She was the goddess upon whom Homer called for inspiration.
