1787 New Jersey Maris 48-g Rarity-1 Outlined Shield. NGC graded AU-50. Rather glossy medium chocolate brown. No spots, stains, or contact marks. The only defects are microscopic planchet chips or flakes that cover the planchet, as struck. Nicely centered and well struck showing a strong date and legends. Later die state with a strong die crack passing diagonally across the shield. The Outlined Shield feature is noted on the NGC label.
