Temple, Shirley (1928 -) American film and television actress, singer, dancer, and diplomat. She was the most famous child star of all time. Typed Letter Signed "Shirley Temple" on stationery with a picture of her at upper left, one page, 8½ x 5½ in., Beverly Hills, California, June 6, 1940. Thanking William Lewin of New York "for sending me in behalf of the committee the lovely leprachaun statuette. It is so attractive, and it made me very proud and happy to receive it." Signed in black ink. Accompanied by the transmittal envelope.
