Spielberg, Steven - Seeking Approval for Minors to Work in "E.T." Two pages of a legal document, each page signed by Steven Spielberg as an officer for EXTRA-TERRESTRIAL PRODUCTIONS, INC., August 24, 1981, at Los Angeles, California. One page, numbered "4", is headed "VERIFICATION"; Spielberg certifies that he has read "the foregoing Petition [not present] for Order Approving Contract of Minor to Render Acting Services in Accordance with California Civil Code Section 36 (a) (2) and know its contents…" The other page, numbered "3" is headed "WHEREFORE, Petitioner prays:" asks that the Court fix a time and place for hearing of the Petition and that "the Contract attached hereto [not present] as Exhibit '1' be approved and confirmed…." is signed by Spielberg and his lawyer, Tom R. Camp, an attorney for EXTRA-TERRESTRIAL PRODUCTIONS, INC. Two sets of file holes at the top of each page; otherwise fine.

E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial, was shot from September to December 1981. It told the story of Elliott, a ten-year-old boy, played by Henry Thomas, who befriended a stranded extraterrestrial. Drew Barrymore played Elliott's adorable five-year-old sister Gertie. The film was released in 1982 and held the record for highest-grossing film for ten years.
