Victoria (1819-1901) Queen of Great Britain and Ireland; from 1876 she was also Empress of India. Longest-reigning monarch in the history of the United Kingdom (1837-1901). Manuscript Document Endorsed and Signed ("App.d Victoria R"), one page, on pale blue, laid, watermarked paper, 12 x 6¾ in., War Office, Jan. 14, 1869. Approving a proposal that the Northumberland and Newcastle Yeomanry Cavalry be reduced from seven troops to six troops. The proposal includes a chart showing the "Establishment of the Regiment." One diagonal fold in upper right corner, else fine. Archivally matted and framed with an image of Queen Victoria to an overall size of 19 x 21 in.
