Lot 289

*/o

U.S. Collection, 1847-2000. In several boxes. Includes a mostly mint collection in 4 hingeless Lighthouse albums, also couple boxes of stockbooks, new issues and loose. Most of the value in the lot is in the first Lighthouse album, which includes (all mint unless otherwise noted): 1847 issue (#1-2) used, 1869 issue complete to the 90¢ used (15¢ type I only), numerous mint and used Bank Notes, Columbians to the $1, 1894 50¢, 1895 $2, Trans-Miss to 50¢, Pan-Ams complete, 1902-03 issue to the $2, 1904-07 commemoratives complete, extensive Washington-Franklins including 50¢, $1, $2 and $5 values, 1922-23 regular issues complete, White Plains souvenir sheet, Kans.Nebr. complete, 1938 and 1954 definitives complete, 1st and 2nd airmail sets complete, 50¢ Chicago Zeppelin; very little if at all in back-of-the-book beyond airmails and some recent ducks. In addition there is a huge amount of new issues; we estimate the misc. at approximately $500 or more in retail value. Many of the better items have P.F. certificates. Condition varies: there are occasional faults or regumming but surprisingly many are in faultless condition, Fine to Very Fine or better. Inspection is definitely recommended - there are many many useful stamps here. This is a great lot for the collector wishing to start wiht U.S. or the dealer looking for items for a small auction or eBay sale.
Estimated Value $7,500 - 10,000.
