Lot 396

1817 N-17 R4 F15. Sharpness VF25 but there are traces of shallow verdigris in protected areas, mostly on the reverse. The verdigris and microscopic roughness are partially hidden under the glossy dark olive and steel patina. There are some nicks scattered over the obverse, including a thin diagonal one close under the chin, and the edge has been lightly marked with artificial "reeding" for some reason. E-MDS. There is a fine but clear bisecting die crack extending through the left foot of the first A in AMERICA through the U in UNITED, but the crack from the first T in STATES to the O in ONE has not formed.
Estimated Value $300-UP.
Ex Bob Everett 4/1994.

Realized $529
