1817 N-7 R7 (with perfect obverse) VG10. Slightly sharper but covered with extremely fine roughness, strongest on the reverse. No verdigris, and the only notable mark is a light rim bruise at the first S in STATES. Slightly glossy dark steel brown fading to dark olive in protected areas. Extremely rare early die state, before the "Mouse" break on top of the head under star 8. Called F12 and tied for CC#2 of the EDS in the Bland census. Noyes says F12 net VG7 and CC#5 of a half dozen EDS examples in his census, photo #25594.
