Sicily, Syracuse, c. 474-470 BC. AR Tetradrachm (17.27 g). Quadriga driven at steady pace right by charioteer; above, Nike flying right crowning horses. Reverse: Pearl-diademed head right of Arethusa, wearing beaded necklace; all surrounded by four dolphins swimming clockwise. Cf. SNG ANS 96; Dewing 761. Quite pleasing, sound metal with natural light antique grey toning. Very Fine.
