Lot 2864

North Carolina Aug. 8, 1778 $1/2. Fr-NC-172. A very pleasing example of this issue that is seldom seen much finer. There are no major flaws present, and the printing and inks are sharp and bold. A large piece of mica is present at the bottom center of the face, giving the collector an ideal example of the primitive methods of anti-counterfieting that were used by Colonial era printers.
Estimated Value $150 - 200.

Realized $196
