1897. PCGS graded MS-63. Light golden toning and frosty. Double Eagles in this era of the gold standard served as backing for gold certificates. They were also a major export item to businesses and banks (along with Central Banks) of England, Europe, and Central and South America. America's $20 gold coins were accepted and respected everywhere (PCGS # 9031) .
