Lot 1877

1858-O. PCGS graded AU-50. A hint of light gold tone. Only 35,250 struck. The 1858-O is a rarity, and fewer than 150 are believed to exist in all grades from an original mintage of 35,250. However, examples are available for reasonable prices. This is a very pleasing specimen, and a remarkable survivor in what is considered to be a challenging New Orleans mint issue. As such it is a higher end condition rarity. This is a very challenging coin to find in higher grades, as the census shows: Pop 19; 38 finer. Only 1 graded in Mint State (PCGS # 8924) .
Estimated Value $5,000 - 5,500.

Realized $10,350
