1843-D. Small D. PCGS graded AU-53 CAC Approved. Well struck with areas of rose color toning on both sides. A Premium Quality example for the given grade. Only 36,209 minted of which only 300 examples are estimated to have survived. The most available of all Dahlonega quarter eagle issues, but still an impressive rarity at the assigned grade. The present specimen exceeds in quality of many slightly higher grade specimens we've seen offered, in terms of overall aesthetic appearance. Pop 22; 58 finer (PCGS # 7730) .
