1861. PCGS graded MS-65. A sparkling golden gem. As an early Type Three Gold Dollar from the Philadelphia Mint, the 1861 Civil War issue enjoys considerable popularity among Type buyers, especially in higher Mint State grades. An important MS65 representative. The surfaces are drenched in thick, billowy mint frost that highlights the needle sharp striking definition. Best of all, neither side reveals any bothersome post-production problems. Pop 34; 10 finer, 7 in 66, 2 in 67, 1 in 67+ (PCGS # 7558) .
Estimated Value $1,500 - 1,600.

Realized $1,898
