Lot 102

1835 C-1 R1 VF30. Struck on a planchet without upset rims (Stage I). Sharpness AU50 but there is a cut out of the rim over AT in STATES and a few very faint vertical hairline scratches down the portrait. Otherwise this piece is quite nice with satiny surfaces and no defects. Frosty grayish steel and light olive. LDS, Manley state 2.0. This piece was struck on a planchet that did not have the rims upset (Stage I). The result of this error is a piece with flat rims and poorly impressed dentils. A neat piece with a clearly different appearance.
Estimated Value $75-UP.
