The publication of this edition was announced in the following advertisement that appeared in the Edinburgh Advertiser on 17 April 1787: "This day is published, Price Five Shillings, by…William Creech, Handsomely bound in one volume. 8vo, and embellished with the Head of the Author, elegantly engraved by Beugo, Poems, Chiefly in the Scottish Dialect, by Robert Burns" [E]. 9 x 5¾ in.
