Lot 493

1800 C-1 R2. NGC graded EF-40. Frosty dark chocolate and steel brown. No corrosion and just a few minor marks, including a small rim nick under the right end of the date and a couple more over S-O at the top of the reverse. There is some crud caked into the protected areas on both sides, and the eye appeal of this piece may benefit from the careful removal of the dirt. M-LDS, Manley state 4.0. The curl left of the date is open due to excessive die polishing. Our grade is net VF25, but an additional 5+ points may be justified if the crud is removed. The Breen variety attribution is noted on the NGC label.
Estimated Value $250-UP.

Realized $529
