Lot 491

1795 C-6a R2 Without Pole G6. Clamshell Lamination. Glossy chocolate brown. A couple small rim nicks at the bottom of the obverse and a tiny rim bruise opposite the forehead are the notable signs of contact. The surfaces are smooth and quite attractive for the grade. The planchet is split, a so-called "clamshell" lamination, on the left side. The clamshell affects UNITED ST but everything remains readable. An extremely rare type of mint error. EDS, Manley state 1.0.
Estimated Value $150-UP.

Realized $483
