Sale 65

Lot 1921

1903. NGC graded MS-68. Well struck and ablaze brilliant untoned luster. Another near perfect specimen! This is an amazing Liberty quarter eagle irrespective of date. The surfaces are aglow in rich golden color that accents the keen sharp strike. The otherwise rich endowment of mint frost thins to modest satiny in the fields, a feature that is fully appreciable in the absence of grade-limiting contact marks. The only evident pedigree marker, and it is not in the least distracting to the exquisite eye appeal, is a faint pinch in the field between the back of the eagle’s neck and the O of OF. This is the highest grade assigned by the grading service: Pop 5; none finer (PCGS # 7855) .
Estimated Value $5,000 - 6,000.

Realized $13,225
