Lot 962

1881-S. PCGS graded MS-68 CAC Approved. Wonderful partial rainbow toning on the obverse. The colors are intense and quite stunning. Virtually ice-white in the fields elsewhere with utterly captivating mint-fresh quality, and we mean truly mint fresh as in untouched by surface contact. Substantial detail to the highpoints on this fine example is to be expected. The 1881-S issue is renowned for its bold strikes and swirling cartwheel luster, and we see that here with a thorough and effectual imprint from the dies; there are no weak areas left by the recoil of the dies, none whatsoever (PCGS # 7130) .
Estimated Value $5,000 - 5,500.
