Lot 70

1793 Chain America. NGC graded Poor-1. Heavily worn but smooth and free of any notable defects. The date is gone, as is most of the legend. The portrait of Ms Liberty is weak but visible as is the chain, ONE CENT, and the fraction. STATES is very faint but can be made out with some effort. Glossy dark chocolate and steel. The position of the elements that are visible confirms that this is a Chain AMERICA type rather than the AMERI version, but the exact Sheldon variety number is only a guess. Our grade is consistent with the slab grade.
Estimated Value $600-UP.

Realized $1,668
