Lot 1334

1848-C. NGC graded AU-55. Light honey color toning. Some residual luster graces the lightly worn matte-like surfaces of this attractively mainly untoned specimen. The strike is somewhat typical with strength on the reverse, minor weakness on the obverse through the hair curls, the stars, and on LIBERTY in the headband, though the design elements are free from heavy handling marks, which is always beneficial. Scarce.Only 16,788 minted. Pop 22; 48 finer (PCGS # 7750) .
Estimated Value $3,500 - 4,000.

Realized $3,163
