1796 S-114 R5- Draped Bust G4. Slightly glossy dark chocolate brown with darker olive toning in protected areas. The devices are smooth and glossy while the fields are covered with extremely fine granularity that retards the gloss in those areas. No marks or verdigris. The date is easily readable, although the upper part of the 7 is weak, and the legends are clear except for weakness on a few letters. Rare MDS, Breen state II, with a sunken retained cud break at TY. This retained cud break is strong for the grade. A decent example of this difficult intermediate die state.
