Lot 770

1793 S-13 R4- Liberty Cap VG7+. Slightly sharper but covered with microscopic roughness, strongest in the protected areas while the devices are nearly smooth. No verdigris or contact marks. Slightly glossy medium brown with chocolate toning in the protected areas. The contrast in toning accents the devices and give this piece the look of an even higher grade. The date is bold and the legends are clear. Late die state, Breen state II, with obvious swelling inside the wreath that weakens ENT in CENT. The eye appeal of this cent is quite nice in spite of the minor roughness.
Estimated Value $4,000-UP.
Ex Jim McGuigan.
