Lot 669

1796 C-2 R4 With Pole G5. Several points sharper but the surfaces are lightly corroded. The roughness is very fine, strongest AMERICA where there are traces of very shallow reddish verdigris mixed in with the roughness. The only marks are a barely visible rim bruise at the L in LIBERTY and a dull rim nick over the second S in STATES. Rather glossy dark olive brown and steel mixed with reddish brown toning at AMERICA. The date is clear and the legends are complete except for weakness at RICA and ALF. Certainly not a perfect example, but not bad for the grade, especially considering the clear date and nearly complete legends. Weight 76.4 grains.
Estimated Value $12,500-UP.
