1798 Small 8 Fair-2. Delaminated Planchet. Glossy chocolate brown. There are some marks, but the major feature of this cent is a large lamination from a split planchet covering the upper half of the reverse, and the laminated part is gone leaving distorted details in that area. The date is weak but easily readable, and portions of the legends remain visible as well. Pieces with a small delamination are often available, but pieces with such a large detached lamination are extremely rare. DWH #3363.
