Lot 520

1838 Coronet Head Cent. PCGS graded MS-66 Brown. Lustrous light bluish steel brown with peeps of very faded mint red on the obverse. Choice except for a shallow planchet flake just left of the O in ONE, as struck. Scarce EDS with dentils extending over the rim on the right side of the obverse, strongest at stars 11 & 12. The surfaces are satiny and very attractive. Called MS61 and CC#12 in the Noyes census, his photo #37286. Our grade is MS62. Pop 1; The finest graded at PCGS. Only two graded for the variety at PCGS in Brown. The other is XF40. DWH #1677 (PCGS # 37195) .
